I can only tell you my opinion and what worked for me. My opinion is that this is a TurboTax software glitch. I was able to get around it by first claiming I had a Medicare Advantage plan (I don't), but put in zero dollars. When I rebooted the "Needs Review" was gone. I then edited it back to state correctly that I did not have a Medicare Advantage plan (checked none) and the "Needs Review" did not recur. It worked for me but use it at your own risk.
Hi Dr Moss, thank you for sharing the workaround that you discovered.
I agree that it is a glitch but I wouldn't use that term. I would use the term "software error" or "major bug." How else to describe a situation where TurboTax OVERESTIMATES HOW MUCH TAX a person should pay??
